Ask, and you shall receive.

A couple of hours after yesterday’s post, where I argued for US Military Intelligence to produce a Smoking Gun about the downing of MH17, news came out (e.g. The Guardian) that ‘Satellite images released by US show Russian rocket fire into Ukraine’:

A four-page document released by the State Department seemed to show blast marks from where rockets were launched and craters where they landed. Officials said the images, which were sourced from the US director of national intelligence, showed heavy weapons fired between 21 July and 26 July, after the 17 July downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, over eastern Ukraine.

Not quite what I had asked for, but wow! ;-)

So I go to the US State Department website to get the memo. But it’s not there. Surely it must be on the Office of the Director of National Intelligence website. But no, it’s not there either. After some search, I get it from the Financial Times. Here: unsigned and unsourced. Apparently, the images first came out in a few tweets by the US Ambassador in Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt.

Unbelievable. So much for conclusive evidence:

It looks like Dr Roberts has quite a few outlandish views, and is downright weird on a couple of subjects (he’s 9/11 truther?!). But I am afraid here he is spot on.

What an own goal.
